How is a Network Operator/CCNA useful in todays world? Network
Operators/CCNA are essential to todays society for interlacing networks and having access to
the internet. Without a Network Operator, networking and the internet would be almost
impossible to browse, and be at slow speeds. Office management of networks, storage databases
technology, and would be primitive without a Network Operator/CCNA.
A CCNA/Network Operator, is someone who manages interlacing networks,
databases, and servers. The salary starts at $40,000-$45,000 annually, and if that person gets
his/her CCNP it will be $80,000-$120,000 depending on that persons experience. It is
recommended that that person goes to college for Computer Science or Information Technology
before that person get that persons CCNA, because it will increase the likelihood of a job (Cisco
CCNA Training Released w/ 1). Although the job need 8 persons for every 1 person in a field.
It is also recommended that the persons gets an internship at as an Information Technology
intern or Computer Science, it would be even better if they could get a Network Operating
internship (Gordon Practical Studies/Cisco 204). That is the basis and run down of the job of
being a CCNA/Network operator and its requirements.
Cisco is the leader in networking technologies on the market. The Cisco exams
have many fields and sub-fields that branch off of main ones. An interested person can become a
Networking Administrator (CCNA) in Security, VoIP (cancelled), Database Technologies and

networking, Network topology and development, and even more. Cisco offers the right job for
the right person (Gordon Practical Studies/Cisco 204). Each is a certificate which a person can
get by taking an exam and getting a score of 70 or more to get a regular certificate, and a an
excellency certificate if that person get a score of 85 or above (Gordon CCNA Self-Study:
Introduction To Cisco Networking Technologies/Cisco: A Beginner's Guide. 3D Ed. 114). This
is a description of the certificates and advancement of a CCNA/Network operator, although it
may seem a large amount of work to some, a job that requires 2-4 years of college is only an
allotted miniscule amount of time.
When a person becomes a network operator, he/she has to deal with complex
network topology. Working on network databases and setting up LAN (Local Access Networks)
and WAN (Wide Access Networks), he/she has an important part in getting networks to connect
to the internet, from that persons wireless router and/or modem to the world (Gordon CCNA
Self-Study: Introduction To Cisco Networking Technologies/Cisco: A Beginner's Guide. 3D
Ed. 114). To start out in the field that person will probably want to get an internship before that
person graduate the college, to get a better chance of being hired by a company/corporation.
CCNA/Network Operators use quick reference guides and not just his/her knowledge of the
networking he/she has at a basis (Gordon Practical Studies/Cisco 204). This is a more depth
description on the insight of what a CCNA/Network Operator will be doing on the job, and how
they work.
A CCNA/Network Operator is a complicated interesting job that involves taking
tests, learning over time, and gaining knowledge over time, a life-time learner. CCNA/Network
operators are important to the networks and internet of today, and without a CCNA/Network
operator the internet would be inevitably primitive.
