write. Who taught you? What books or stories were significant in your early life? Was there a school
event that was interesting, humorous or embarrassing that contributed to your literacy narrative? Was
writing or reading a task you found difficult or challenging? Did siblings or the lack of siblings relate to
the forming of your literacy narrative? Relate these events.

WP#2
Tell a story of an especially important event later in your life that profoundly shaped you as the literate
person you are today. It could describe an important educational or non-educational experience that
influenced your literacy learning in some way. Be detailed in your explanation as you relate these
events.

WP#3
Discuss how recent challenges (instant messages, e-mail, web pages, social networks, texting, Instagram,
twitter, etc.) have affected how your literacy narrative in any way. You could include the origins of your
current attitudes about writing and reading and how technology and recent challenges have changed
you. Think about what technologies were not around when your literacy narrative was initially being
shaped and which ones are now. You can expand the margins of this WP by talking to parents,
grandparents, aunts, uncles, or anyone who did not have the technology that you have as their literacy
narratives were shaped. Relate these events.
