Faculty Comments:
Jason always arrives early to clinical to prepare for the day. In order to make up for one clinical day missed, Jason came up with a quiz game
pertaining to NURS 442 that he lead/presented during post conference. Documentation has improved immensely-timely and accurate. Jason
does a wonderful job of using his resources and adapts patient care when appropriate. Jason is excellent at communicating with staff, patients,
peers, and his instructor. Jason succeeds in organizing and prioritizing patient needs. During leadership week, Jason served as a tremendous
charge nurse over his peers. Jason took initiative to round on his cohorts and assist with general patient care. He was able to utilize his critical
thinking skills in order to make proper assignments and modify as needed when the units census began to change in the afternoon.

Faculty Comments:
Jason develops good report with patients and their families. Jason took the initiative to sit down and talk with a patients family member when
they were quite anxious regarding the injuries the patient had sustained. Jason demonstrated wonderful comforting techniques in this situation.
Jason recognized and verbalized that he could not answer all of the family members questions and found the appropriate resources to make
sure their inquiries/needs were met. On multiple occasions Jason used evidence based practice, such as looking up the side effects of an
antihypertensive med, to provide safe and efficient patient care. Jason presented a power point during post conference that discussed the
implications of falls on patients, institutions, and health care providers.

Jason provided safe, effective care to his patients by prioritizing medication administration for his multiple patients that were in pain and
needed intervention. Assessment data is interpreted accurately. Jason recognized his patient was symptomatic with hypertension and notified
his RN immediately. Medication knowledge is improving-Jason knows how to access his resources if he needs help with the pharmacokinetics
of a drug to be administered. Jason solved a simple patient care issue by medicating a painful patient on a schedule in order to keep his pain
level tolerable. By the end of the semester, Jason was able to prioritize and care for a three patient assignment under the direction of the floor
nurse and FSU instructor.
4)

Supportive Faculty Comments:
Jason is a wonderful team player with his peers and the staff on 4N. He is respectful, courteous, and open to constructive criticism. Jason
utilizes feedback from his instructor by applying it effectively to his practice. Jason is never afraid to ask a question and takes great initiative in
his learning on the floor. During post conference, Jason shared a situation in which he witnessed a lack of professional behavior on the unit.
Jason identified core nursing values that were missing from this situation and how an awareness of these values could prevent similar issues in

the future. Jasons strengths include his eagerness to learn and openness to constructive criticism.
