Hudson Professor Raymond UWRT 1101 November 22, 2014
Fall Semester 2014 1101 UWRT
The fall UWRT 1101 class was by far one of my most favored writing classes that I have ever attended. Throughout the course I produced some of my best work, created an e-portfolio, learned a great amount about myself and my own literacy narrative, and I changed my writing process slightly. Without a doubt, my best work during this course was my semester long project. The presentation that my partner and I generated regarding Area 51 was one of the best presentations that we have ever completed. The presentation was filled with rich information and visuals that produced a compelling presentation to the audience and prevented anybody from falling asleep during the 9:30am class. I spent upwards of fifteen hours perfecting the presentation as did my partner. Perfection was the only goal in this presentation, as in everything else in life, and that goal was successfully met. I couldnt be any happier with how the presentation turned out. My e-portfolio demonstrates that I am a perfectionist and maybe slightly OCD at times. I require for all my works to be perfect, precise, and organized. These traits reflect on me as not only a student, but also as a person on general. I live by these traits on a daily basis and I strive to never cut corners. My e-portfolio represents the study ethics that I portray and abide by here at UNC Charlotte. Throughout the duration of this course I have learned a lot about not only reading and writing, but also about myself. Upon entrance to this class I was relatively good at reading, especially writing, and most definitely in the use of a vivid vocabulary. During this course I was able to apply my strengths on multiple occasions and express my strong enjoyment for writing and reading. Reading the articles towards the beginning of the semester really enhanced my reading capabilities and comprehension of material. In correspondence, the writing assignments also sharpened my writing techniques and my vocabulary. Most helpful were the insightful and thoughtful responses that I received from Professor Raymond throughout the course. My writing process remained moderately the same throughout the course. Ive never been one to use a plan when writing, I just write what I feel and normally it turns out pretty well. One weakness that Ive encountered in my writing is making good introductions and transitions. This 1101 class strengthened this weakness due to the amount of assignments I completed that required introductions and transitions. I now feel that my writing is great and I can write about almost anything. In conclusion, this 1101 UWRT class was my favorite writing class that I have ever attended. It taught me to produce only quality work, create an exceptional e-portfolio and semester long project, and also improved and perfected my writing process. Professor Raymond is by far one of the most insightful Professors at UNC Charlotte and I wouldnt even consider taking UWRT 1102 with any other professor.
