DISTINGUISHED Professional
Work 180-200
This webpage designer
demonstrates total mastery of
learning through his/her website.
There is an immediate positive
impact on the audience when they
visit this webpage. The sources
are illuminating and add to the
field of education. The work is of a
scholarly nature. All content has
been put into the authors own
words and there is analysis and a
definite value-added contribution
in each and every segment of the
webpage.
When questioned, the designer can
easily teach each concept without
hesitation.

This webpage has definition
and purpose but lacks the
wow factor found in the
Distinguished webpage. The
sources are good, the writing
proficient, and it is evident
this teacher candidate has
mastered the concepts but
there is less of an impact on
the audience. Most of the
content has been put into the
authors own words and
evidence of analysis is
present but at a much lower
level than the Distinguished
webpage.
When questioned, the
designer has difficulty
answering some questions or
answers the questions with
little added information.
BASIC
140-159
This webpage lacks impact and
is merely a regurgitation of
discussions in class. The
sources are questionable and
are only those sources
mentioned in class; the
designer does not go out of
his/her comfort area and
actually research new
information/sites/scholarly
work. This teacher candidate
has a basic understanding of
the concepts and there is
little/no impact on the
audience. Much of the content
is not in the authors own
words and there is little/no
evidence of analysis present.
Mostly, this webpage lacks
demonstration of knowledge
gained and simply goes
through the motions of
putting topics and definitions
on a page. When questioned,
this designer cannot answer
questions about many of the
topics or has very basic
knowledge about the subjects.
The writing process and
critical thinking skills of the
content are unclear and often
ambiguous. Some ideas
sometimes do not pertain to
the topic; others contain cited
quotations but no analysis.
There is little use of the
authors own words and
critical thinking skills. In some
areas, the author merely gives

This webpage has no impact on the
audience and is difficult to view.
Sources are pieced together; there
is much cut and paste and no
critical analysis of the topics. Much
of the content is either pasted
quotations, little/no self-reflection,
and lacks the authors own
ideas/works/knowledge. This is
unacceptable work. When
questioned, this designer cannot
answer most questions asked
regarding the Foundations of
Education requirements, topics,
and concepts.

Self Reflection:
Overall, I feel as though I did put a lot of time into both completing and revising this webpage. Even though I did make an attempt to
incorporate all aspects necessary that were mentioned in this rubric, I feel that I could have done more to effectively portray my points. I
always feel like I have room for improvement. I feel as though I have grown a lot throughout this course, and have acquired vast amounts of
knowledge regarding education, but I am still not an expert, nor did I plan to be by the end of the semester. Overall, I feel as though this
webpage is an outward sign of my best attempts to connect the knowledge of this course to my own personal views on teaching thus far.
GLOSSARY
Impact: how this piece will impact its target audience. This is the most important element of the teacher webpage for if you fail to make an
impact on the perspective employer, you will not gain a position.
Process: how did you think through the topics? What did you add to the content that demonstrates your critical thinking?
Content: accuracy and inclusion of all topic areas. The content is in the authors own words and demonstrates their complete autonomy
and ownership of the learning. There are hyperlinks to pertinent websites; most importantly, the author can TEACH any/all parts of the
content.
Polish: organization, layout, writing style, grammatical sequencing, color, font/type. This is where you demonstrate creativity in your
design of this professional masterpiece.
