Due: The week of Monday, December 8th Topic: Family Tradition or Celebration As we enter the holiday season the students for Room 106 will be learning about the different seasonal celebrations, often referred to as the Festival of Lights that take place at this time. Students are asked to think about and share with the class a family tradition or celebration that takes place at home. A tradition could consist of something as simple as an annual visit to the country fair or as specific as a New Years Eve celebration. The presentation should include: 1) The name of their family tradition or celebration 2) What the family tradition or celebration consists of (i.e., decorations, special chants/poems/songs read, rituals, etc.) 3) An illustration, photograph or artefact that represents or symbolizes your childs family tradition or celebration Students should come prepared to briefly explain these aspects of their family tradition or celebration when they are presenting.
