Room 106

Discover and Discuss Presentation #3

Due: The week of Monday, December 8th
Topic: Family Tradition or Celebration
As we enter the holiday season the students for Room 106 will be learning
about the different seasonal celebrations, often referred to as the Festival
of Lights that take place at this time. Students are asked to think about and
share with the class a family tradition or celebration that takes place at
home. A tradition could consist of something as simple as an annual visit
to the country fair or as specific as a New Years Eve celebration. The
presentation should include:
1) The name of their family tradition or celebration
2) What the family tradition or celebration consists of (i.e., decorations,
special chants/poems/songs read, rituals, etc.)
3) An illustration, photograph or artefact that represents or symbolizes
your childs family tradition or celebration
Students should come prepared to briefly explain these aspects of their
family tradition or celebration when they are presenting.
Have fun!
Mr. Gale
