Testing on Primate
Introduction
For million of years, man has evolved through primate evolution. But today we are
using primates as a test subject, when we are talking about this matter, the question that pop up
often asking how would performing testing in primates help our understanding? Can it really
speed up the process of our evolution? And How? This argument had been going through
many centuries, which we havent found the real answer for. As we are talking about this
matter, I like to discuss about testing on primate on this essay. Due to many reading on
primate, I have concluded myself as a pro to testing on primate; it is a necessary concept for our
understanding. Or would you prefer using our own body as a test subject? In my opinion,
testing on primate had bring many success to the society, so there shouldnt be any
stopping into it, there needed to be satisfied in order to gain.
People might say that performing tests on primates is cruel and unethical. On the other
hand, would it be not cruel and unethical when you are testing on human? Many of our

accomplishment about understand out own past and human body is indebted to the process of
testing primates, which has make biological tests on primate necessary and ethical to our
understand of evolution.

In many association of anthropology, scientist suggests that respect to non-primate and
primate is important when they are study the biological of human organisms. For example, the
testing called pharmaceutical test (Primates in Laboratories), it is a test were that human forced
up a nostril up or down to the animal throat and pumped drug into their stomach. People are
suggesting that this action is unethical and too cruel. People are saying that chimpanzee are 99%
genetically related to our human species, but almost all of the test on primates end up in
traumatized, debilitated, or dead. Scientist are not allowed to perform experience on a race a
species that can be consider family to our, they cannot cut open the skull and applying electric
inside of the brain part to conduct various physical and emotional reaction. People are suggesting
that this animal cruelty needed to stop immediately (Stop Cruel Primate Testing and
Experiments). Many primates are being separate from their family from the moment that they
were born, many are captured and being put into a cramped metal cages and being injected with
many lethal disease for study purposed (Stop Cruel Primate Testing and Experiments).
According to the article Stop Cruel Primate Testing and Experiments, they says: Primates

testing needed to stop immediately, there is nothing could be explain the action because it is too
cruelty and unethical, it is something that people whose is against testing on primate are agree
upon on.
Critical Evaluation (View 1)
When we are evaluating the effect of testing on primates, we are talking about either a
gain in knowledge or killing an innocent animal. But let be honest, if it werent for many cruelty
experiment done in primates, we cannot go as far as we are today, we cannot accomplish as
many as today. For example, Brest Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Bone-marrow transplant, and
Nervous system repair is something that society had cure in the past many years due to the
testing on primate. Without testing on primate, there will no cure and more people end up
dying rather than a single primate is dying (UV Animal Research Achievements). Plus,
there are many primates are being raise for experiment purposed, it is saying that they were raise
to serve a particular purposed, and being a test subjects is primates jobs. Also, a fallacy that
people intend to deal with nowadays, is that killing an animal for something like research is
inhuman, I think that is completely wrong (Primate testing is cruel).

According to FASEB (Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology) claim
that Americans are living longer, healthier lives and we owe much of that success to biomedical

research (Forty Reason Why We Need Animals in Research Quote 1), thus this had say that
biological anthropology is the first and important study that can help our understanding of human
species to move into a new levels. As we are suggesting that it is the most important study, that
will make the testing and research to become the most important aspects of achieving many
discoveries and solving many disease that are still occurring in our human body. There are many
discover and study had shown that it is not promising, but that is what it we call a hypothesis,
which is a guess base on many phenomenon, it is not accrued and cannot proof to the correct. As
the result of many experiment on primates had help human solving many disease and raising our
lifetime a little longer comparing to the old time. In addition, there are diseases called Ebola have
been occurring on the society nowadays. According to Experimental Ebola drug cured 100% of
monkey tested, they stated that thank to the testing on monkey, they have cured 100% of Ebola
disease inside of the monkey (Szabo, Liz). Also, according a former UK Home Office minister
Joan Ryan, he is suggesting Animal research and testing has played a part in almost every
medical break through for the last century. It has saved hundreds of millions of lives worldwide
(Forty Reasons Why We Need Animals in Research Quote 2), which is saying that testing on
primates not only saving life but putting our knowledge into a new levels, it is an action that are
necessary for our human species to move on into a new and better species. The more knowledge
you have, the stronger you get.

Critical Evaluation (View 2)

When we are looking at how many advantages that testing on primates are giving us,
there shouldnt be any argument about this controversy. Therefore, it makes sense that biological
testing is giving us knowledge, making us more powerful and knowledgeable. There needed to
be satisfied in order to gain, primates are something that we human satisfy in order to gain
something that we needed. For example, Ebola disease, a new step are being reviewed and the
hope of finding a cure for that disease have been open up due to testing on primates had bring.

Conclusion
I feel like this primates-testing controversy is an infinity debate on both sides. Each side
have their own argument, it is like a zoo where people are willing to catch the animals for people
around the world to watch and understand what is living among them, the other one is those
people who is thinking catching animals is too cruel and we human should stay in our old time
and didnt know how to move up. There is needed to be satisfied in order to gain something that
we seek, testing on primate had bring many accomplishment to our human species, primates is a
subjects that needed to satisfied to help our human species to gain and evolve, so let it be.
Testing on primate had cure many disease and help people discover many things that they could
long ago, primate might be a test subject, but it will be remember as the closet family to human

species. As I go through many concept of identifying my opinion in this matter, I conclude

myself as a pro testing on primate. There is something that needed to replace primate, and
that things needed to be a better testing subject, otherwise testing on primate these day is a
correct choice of our society.
