The Chair:
Book Corner Club Meeting Date:
Title of Reader:
You are The Chair. You have three jobs:
1 While you are reading the Graded Reader, write down four or five general questions to ask the
others in your Club. Ask their opinions about the book (e.g. What was the book about? Was it a
happy or sad book? Did you like the ending? etc.) Ask if they liked a character or if they have visited
a similar place, read a similar book or had a similar experience. Then give your Club members your
opinions, and share your ideas and experiences with them.
2 You lead the Club meeting and make sure everybody has the opportunity to speak, or to ask
questions if they want. You speak first (see 3 below) then ask the Theme Secretary to speak and the
rest of the Club to respond to the Theme Secretary.
3 You record which people occupy each role at the meeting, so that next time everybody takes a
different role.
