Human Body Systems and Diseases 7-3: The student will demonstrate an understanding of the functions and interconnections of the major human body systems, including the breakdown in structure or function that causes diseases. (Life Science) Objective: The students will be able to write five facts about the skeletal system. Tool: Exit/ Entrance Card In order for the student to leave the class at the end of the period, he/she will have to give five specific facts about the skeletal system, such as: The skeletal system supports and protects the body. The students should be able to write down five facts about the skeletal system which we had just discussed. I will give students the last 5 minutes left of the period to complete this task. The students should hand in their note card before leaving. Rationale: The reason to introduce the exit cards to the class is to ensure that they are paying attention during class. Students will have to be able to listen in class because they will not have any idea what question I will be asking. I also want to promote student learning and academic success. Grading Scheme: I will use what the students wrote on the cards as a guide to see if I am effectively teaching. I can also use the exit cards as a way to see if my students understand the lesson. If I see the students are still struggling, I will try a different method of teaching. For this assignment, I will give stickers to those who complete the work.
