Dear Advisory Board Members:
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I write this letter to thank you for your
generous contribution. I especially want to thank the St. Lukes Wood River
foundation and the McLean Education Endowment for their kindness and support.
This will help lessen the financial burden of my parents and it will encourage me to
do my best and be more committed in my studies.
I was born and raised in Mexico until I reached the age of nine. We came here in the
search of a better life and a better education for my siblings and I. Since both of my
parents were unable to finish elementary school, my parents encourage me to continue
studying and take advantage of the possibility to go farther in life and become the
physician I want to be.
Currently, I am attending my third year at College of Southern Idaho. I have tried to
maintain a 3.0 or higher at school. I have been very active in clubs and organizations
such as Ambassadors. I like being social and active. Also, there years in school have
been very challenging because of work to pay for rent or when I dont work and rent,
I commute back and forth plus on top of that my involvement in club activities.
Sometimes I have to make my studies my priority and therefore this upcoming
semester I will work very hard and obtain straight As.
This will be my last semester and I will be graduating in the spring. My goals are to
raise my GPA and get the best grades to graduate with a decent GPA. Afterwards, I
will attend a university which I am still undecided on which university to attend. After
graduating I will be one step closer to my ultimate goal. This will be possible thanks
to you. Receiving this scholarship will make it easier for me to reach my goal. Your
generosity is extremely appreciated. I once again want to thank the Advisory board
and the St. Lukes Wood River foundation for believing in me.
