Job Applications

Using the NASA website, students will research one

NASA Scientist. Create a Prezi (or presentation tool
recommended by your teacher) that answers the
following questions about the scientist you selected

Although only open to seniors, students were shown

the realities of life on their own by begin given a job
with a monthly salary which they spent along the way
on bills, children, etc. (Whatever life threw their way
during the event.) Students were also able to
participate in a few workshops where business
professionals spoke on a variety of topics like
resumes and interviews.

Katie Cash, VP of Operations at Strategies, LLC., spoke

to business and marketing students about her
journey from college to her current position as well as
how her company is involved in the LakePoint
sporting community that will have a large impact on
the Bartow and Paulding communities. November
Cover Letters Students reviewed the basic formatting
of business letters. As a class, we discussed the
purpose of cover letters and how they are typically
structured. Material and lesson were from
collegeincolorado.org. Students then located a job in
which they could apply for at the end of high school
and wrote a cover letter to the proper person. Some
students had to research for the proper recipient and
even called a store or company to find out the name
of the recipient.

The differences between job applications and

resumes were discussed. Students who had applied
for a job through the use of a job application shared
their experiences.
Rules for dos and donts of a job application were
discussed before students completed job application
