History 134
10.13.14

My name is Shelby I live in the Aristoi class of the Greek empire. This is the highest of
the three classes meaning we as do I have power and with this power comes money we also have
a superior armor, weapons, and a horse when on military campaign. The men of my town
consider us the best of the people. The man and my husband spend their days Protecting the
land and in the other classes taking from the land and making a living with the trade and such.
I being a woman stay home with my children and our slaves who harvest the land for us
to trade. They heard the cattle and help with the children. I live at home and rise or three
children. I have a son 13, and two daughters seven and four. The man I married was chosen by
my father. My father is a class below me and wanted a better life for me. I have learned to love
my husband. He and I both love culture and music as well as our three children.
I spend my day s keeping up the house. I like to make clothing and I like to pass this
along to my children and well so I am slowly teaching them. Each day I will have a music lesion
with my babies and we will talk about how the music made us feel and what the composer was
trying to convey by the piece. I then have the slave prepare dinner and I feed the children and put
then down for naps. Then I take up reading to greaten my knowledge for culture. I then wake the
children of age and have them prepare for school.
My boy goes to training with his father and the men of our village. My husband says its
so they can be grouped together under the stewardship of an older youth to be toughened up with
hard physical training. He always reassures me that my baby will be coming home to me. My
family is my life my legacy and my soul. I have three now and no idea of the future.
