Bamboo isnt the first material that comes to mind when you think of multi-storied towers, but these bamboo structures from Paris-based St Val
Architect prove that bamboo is sustainable and versatile.
The narrow five story cocoon homes were designed as part of the rebuilding effort in Port au Prince, Haiti. Using local materials and inspired by
traditional weaving with plant fibres, the bamboo forms part of the sturdy exterior of the house frame.
The five floors are connected via a spiral staircase, with the kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor and the bedrooms located on the remaining
floors.
