Paper Title:
Evaluator: Joe Montemurro
1. What are the strengths of the paper? What about the paper works well? Be
specific. The strengths of this paper would be the great transitioning between
paragraphs. I enjoyed reader the whole paper, because each paragraph grabbed my
attention. Also the direct quotes fit in your paper great, and the explanation of
them was very clear.

2. Does the title fit the essay? Is there a title? Why or Why not? Suggestions? There
is no title for this essay yet.
3. Does the introduction grab the readers attention? Why or Why not? Suggestions?
Yes I believe it grabs the readers attention because since social media is a part of
almost everyones lives, its an interesting topic that people want to learn a little
more about, especially if they are currently in a relationship.
4. What is the authors thesis (the main idea of the whole paper)? Copy and paste it.
Does the paper support the thesis? Explain where it strays. Social media can even sway
our relationships in a positive and negative direction. In this case, social media can do
more bad than good when it comes to relationships. Moreover, social media can have
negative impacts on relationships.

5. Is the draft effectively organized? Could it be organized differently? What

should be moved around? Yes the draft is effectively organized. The writer
introduces the topic, and then properly addresses the negative outcomes with
social media and relationships.

6. Is information from the source material being integrated into the paper
effectively? It should be a mix of paraphrased passages, summaries, your own
words, and some direct quotes. I think the information from the source
material is perfectly fit into the paper. Every new idea in each paragraph has

some source material that backs up what the writer has to say.

7. Is in-text citation being used properly? Yes in-text citation is properly used.
saw one error that just needed a comma in between the writers name, and
the page number.

8. Are the paragraphs unified? Meaning: do the paragraphs all flow and make
sense in the order they appear? Yes the paragraphs flow very well, mixing the
effects social media has on someones life and relationship.

9. Are there clear topic sentences? A topic sentence is the sentence that the
paragraph is based on. It should work to support the overall thesis. Every
topic sentence in each paragraph relates to the thesis. In this paper the
writer connects the effects social media has on a boyfriend or girlfriends
feelings.

10. Does every sentence in the paragraph support the topic sentence? Yes, but
towards the end the writer brings up some positives social media has on
relationships. You might want to revise this because you dont want to try and
change your topic.

11. Are there clear, effective transitions? Note paragraphs that dont make sense
or suggest transition words. The transitions between paragraphs are nicely
done. One transition paragraph says, While on the other hand I think it
would be best to take the while out.

12. Is the conclusion effective? Does it adequately conclude the essay? Make sure
its not introducing new information. Suggestions? The conclusion is effective
it states what the writer researched and what he got out of it. In this case the
negative effects of social media out-weighed the positives which can be
clarified in the beginning paragraphs.

13. Where would the paper benefit from additional support and examples? Write
on the draft where additional information is needed. What do you need to
know? Not much revision is needed for this draft. You can add what happens
when a relationship falls apart, and what does the previous couple do on one
anothers social media.

14. Is there a completed Works Cited page? Yes there is a work cited page at the
end of the paper.

15. Are all sources on the page? Are they cited correctly? You might want to
double check your in-text citations after paraphrasing.

16. Make two specific suggestions for the final draft. I would briefly talk about
what going on after a couple splits up on social media. Also I would think
about spacing out the third paragraph.
