Language Function
Ask questions such as: Does weather always stay the same? to raise awareness for
what they are about to learn. Further explore the idea of how the weather changes at
different times of year by exploring the different seasons with students.
Lesson Plan
Before:
-Students will finish up with previous subject and take out Science book and
notebook.

-Students will copy down the new vocabulary words into notebooks for later
reference. (5 minutes)
During:
-Teacher will ask some questions for prior knowledge. Ex: Does the weather
always stay the same?
-Teacher will discuss the weather and introduce the seasons.
-Students will follow along in their books. (5 minutes)
-Teacher will say to the students, Weather is something that changes during the
seasons but it isnt the only thing. Each season happens at a certain time of the
year, has its own special holidays, and there are special activities that we do
during each season.
After:
-Teacher will write the four seasons on the board and review what goes on
during each one and students will then make a season chart.
-Students will take what they learned about the four seasons and fill in the chart
to describe something about each season using pencils and markers.
-If there is time, share charts to class.
