My year 7 year was really great. I made new friends that I mucked around with all the time. The lessons at the
start of the year I found were really difficult and I struggled badly in my weaker subjects. Over the year I think I
have slowly progressed with my achievement level. I am ready for high school though I will miss my friends who
will not follow me to Blackwood High School.
I have been a Thinker this semester during math. I have been a Thinker because in every lesson I am trying to
listen and pay attention to what the teacher is teaching. Staying focused is really hard for me as mind tends to
wander. In the most difficult lessons I am trying really hard to figure out the answer and problem. By being a
Thinker I have achieved a higher standard of mathematic work this year.
I have been an Inquirer when I am working on research assignments. I have been an Inquirer in research
assignments because I get a lot of information for my research topic and I explore the topic very thoroughly.
I have been Balanced this year when I was juggling Pedal Prix, Jump Rope and school work. I made sure that
during Jump Rope and Pedal Prix that I didnt exhaust myself too much for lessons but I still worked hard during
the extra curriculum activities to not let my team down.
I have been Knowledgeable during assessment tasks as they have been steadily improving over the past year. At
the start of the year I was getting marks between 3s and 4s but now I am getting marks between 5 and 8s.

Teacher comment including students development of the Learner Profile attributes
Katie is a fun loving yet dedicated student who brings a lot of laughter to our classroom.
Katie loves sport and was our school sports day captain. She is also an excellent netball player and umpire. She
played SAPSASA Netball and created an outstanding instruction manual for her Student Initiated Project. She ran
her own netball game and was chosen to umpire the staff and student netball match. She also participated in
Pedal Prix and Jump Rope.
Katie is a principled student who demonstrates discipline and dedication to her schoolwork, which doesnt
always come naturally to her. Katie works very hard to make sure she understands what is asked of her. She
takes her schoolwork very seriously and goes above and beyond to achieve. Katie often finds it difficult to
understand processes as well as sort her work into a logical order to communicate to others. She works hard to
overcome this by asking questions and checking her work. These habits will help her in high school as she faces
an increased workload and a variety of teachers with different teaching approaches.
We hope that Katie goes onto enjoy high school with the same enthusiasm and dedication she has had this year.
All the very best Katie.
