Paras to son: The world is yours

La Salle Green Archer Kobe Paras finally made a final decision to leave his team to
play high school basketball in the U.S. Business tycoon Danding Cojuangco, a De La
Salle patron, gives his blessing to the junior superstar. Kobes dad PBA legend Benjie
Paras made a commitment to Cojuangco and assured him that should his son return
to the Philippines, Kobe will still be playing with the Green Archers and not to any
other team. Kobe Paras will soon be playing with UCLA Bruins as soon as he can
graduate, a major requirement, in Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, California.
A Fathers Good Luck Words to His Son
According to a press release by Cathedral High School, Benjie Paras told his son this
encouraging words, Kobe, the world is yours, and now its time for you to decide
which path you want to take. Benjies words came after his son Kobe made his
decision to commit to UCLA Bruins. Benjie Paras carved his own record to have been
the only one awarded an MVP and Rookie of Year in the same year in the history of
the PBA. He believed that this UCLA experience of his son will be his great
transformation into manhood. Benjie believed that his son is very promising to be
one of the future basketball superstars in Philippine basketball, following the
footsteps of his own fathers legacy.
Kobe to Join UCLA Legends
UCLA is the home of basketball legends who has made very successful careers in
the NBA, such as, Reggie Miller, Kareem Abdul-Jabar and Kevin Love. According to
NBA record, UCLA Bruins already had a total of 83 players who have made their way
to the NBA. UCLA Bruins also had a high-time record of 11 championships in NCAA
history. 6-feet-6-inches Kobe is still 17-years-old is good prospect for Philippine
national basketball team in future international competitions.
