Format: An informative video presentation.


Topic: Have you ever wondered why there is daylight and nighttime? Have you ever wondered
why it happens daily?

Directions:
1. Visit the resources given below and research the topic.
2. Use a diagram of your choosing that we have learned how to use to organize your
information and thoughts.
3. Make a list in the order of things you want to cover in your video so you can refer back to
it during taping your video.
4. Do a few practice runs of your video before actually recording it.
5. Record your video like you are teaching your students about this given topic.
6. Upload your video onto a flash drive and be prepared to show it in class.

Objective: Iowa State Standard, Grade 2, Mathematics, Measurement and Date. 2.MD.D.9
Generate measurement data by measuring lengths of several objects to the nearest whole unit, or
by making repeated measurements of the same object. Show the measurements by making a line
plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in wholenumber units.

1. Pretend you are an interior designer and you have to measure a room of your clients to
give to the carpenters for new carpet
2. Review all of the resources listed below.

3. Pick a room in your house and take a tape measure the floor lengths from wall to wall.
4. Draw a diagram of the room showing the measurements.
5. Pick three more objects in that room to measure and draw a diagram of them with the
measurements on it.
6. Take all of your measurements and put them into a PowerPoint presentation or a Prezi
presentation.
7. With this presentation act like it is for your clients.

Audience: Citizens of the United States.
Format: Write an informative paper.
Topic: Understand the U.S. Constitution, the purpose of rules, basic concepts of government,
and citizens responsibilities and write a paper explaining these topics to citizens.

Directions:
1. Review the resources listed below.
2. Take notes in a graphic organizer over the topic of this paper.
3. Organize your notes in ordered list of what you will talk about in your paper.
4. Write an informative paper to the citizens of the United States teaching them about the
topics of this paper.
