They clearly understood the concept of


sustainability and gave clear examples of
what it means to take care of the earth
and to not take care of the earth.

Standard chosen is visibly displayed

They used a cute newspaper leaves tree to


grab students attention. They also put a
giant tree on there to engage students!
Everything was neat and well organized.
Hands-on learning- children must actively
think through each piece and decide if it is
good or bad for the earth.

Yes! It was typed and place in plain view


The standard asks students to understand
that numbers 10-19 can be broken into
(ex. 11, 1 ten and 1 one). Thus we made
snowmen for each number 10-19 and
student have to match the snowmen
pieces with the correct number (ex. 11, 1
ten 1 one, 10+1) Thus they see this in
numeral form and in words.

Hands on learning- students have to think


through each snowman piece and match
them together.

snowmen, snowflakes, fluffy snow, cute

Yes the board is easily accessible and is


adaptable for differentiation. The teacher
can put out one part of the snowman and
ask the students to find the rest. Or she
can put out two parts if she wants to
make it easier or no parts if she wants to
make the activity harder.
