Lesson Overview/Summary:
Stamp Art: I would use this integration art project in third grade. Integrating social studies and art. The students would
pick a state that interests them. Find information about the state such as the state bird, state tree, or state flower. The
students would then draw and create their own state stamp. The students will use media such as pencils, paper, crayons,
markers, scissors, glue, and colored pencils. The students could use different values and placements to make their stamp
stand out. A big idea for this could be creation, marketing, and global awareness. I found this on Pinterest.
Identify & define common vocabulary/concepts that connect the art form
with the other identified subject area(s):
Concepts:
Global Awareness: to be aware of the global issues and difficulties. To have
geographic knowledge.
Marketing: Marketing is the process of communicating the value of a
product to customers, for the purpose of selling that product

Procedure Continued:
5. Allow the students to create and represent the state they have
chosen while creating their own stamp.
6. When all the students are done allow them to share their new
knowledge and how they marketed their state with a stamp.
7. Then hang up the stamps around the room. Showcasing their
knowledge.
How will this lesson encourage students to solve problems in divergent ways?
This lesson allows students to think in divergent ways by allowing them to decide how they want to market their state on their stamp.
Also what state qualities they want to include in their stamp. Lastly, the students get to think in divergent ways on how they want to advertise the state they
have chosen.
What opportunities/activities will students be given to revise/reflect and improve their understandings and their work?
I will allow my students to reflect upon their work by sharing it out with all students. As a follow up lesson I would allow them to improve and reflect upon
their knowledge and stamp by also creating a brochure for their state. This would expand on their previous knowledge and allow them to not only
incorporate their stamp in the brochure but also add more.
What opportunities/activities will you provide for students to share their learning/understanding/work in this lesson?
My students will be given the chance to present what they learned about the state they have chosen. They will also be able to showcase their stamp and
explain how they decided to market their state. Lastly, I will showcase their stamps throughout the classroom.
How will you adapt the various aspects of this lesson to differently-abled students?
When appropriate for the students the students will have the opportunity to use other materials and will be given necessary assistance or extra time.
