Who is a Terrorist?
Any person of a group of people that threaten
a democratic regime by using acts of violence
to archive any of the following goals:
Political
Ideological
Religion or
Any other reason

Why they are considered a terrorist

group?
Although the group primarily targets Somali
governmental officials and Ethiopian military
forces, it has also conducted attacks against
African Union Mission forces and international
peacekeepers inside Somalia.
Since the U.S. designated Al Shabaab a Foreign
Terrorist Organization in October 2008, the group
has also stated its intent to target Western
interests both inside and outside Somalia

 Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for many

bombingsincluding various types of suicide
attacksin Mogadishu and in central and
northern Somalia, typically targeting Somali
government officials, AMISOM, and perceived
allies of the SFG.
Some al-Shabaab personalities have previously
threatened the West and vowed to launch attacks
in neighboring countries; associated extremists
are likely responsible for the rash of bombings
that have occurred in Kenya.

Failed State
Somali has been accused of training holy warriors in
the Somalia region punt land,
Since Somalia is a failed state its is very hard to stop
terrorist etc, which is the reason why so many terrorist
organizations see Somalia as a haven.
Al shabbab is an Islamist insurgent group fighting to
overthrow the government of Somalia. As of summer
2010, the group is said to control most of the southern
and central parts of Somalia, including a large part of
the capital, Mogadishu,
