Mark,
Would next week Thursday work to for me to come over to Orange City and shadow you for a day as part of
my internship requirement?
If this does not work, do you have another day next week that would work better? Wednesday is probably the
only day that I cant make work.
Thanks in advance.

I can make Thursday work. You will probably be bored to death. I do have a thought for you to consider. On Friday,
Nov 14, we have our conference AD meeting. Perhaps you would want to shadow that day instead. How many days do
you need to shadow?

I think that I can Friday work. That will probably be a bit better. I will have to put in for a personal day and I
assume it will get accepted, but I am not real sure. I will let you know when I find out.
I need to spend a minimum of 8 hours with you during a school day, so one day should suffice. I will need to
get another 8 hours with you in some other form. Maybe it is through supervision, or possibly through a
project or other activity that I could assist you with.
I was at South OBrien with Mr. Bruder last week Friday and I had the same concerns as you. However, we
mostly discussed the ins and outs of his job. It really was a productive day. I was able to sit in on a couple of
different student situations as well as an administrative meeting. The day actually went a lot better than I had
anticipated.
Thanks for helping me out.

Wow, thought I had this lined up with you and just got an e-mail about the conference meeting moving to Nov
17 at Sibley. You pick when you want to come hereThursday, Friday or Nov 17. I will make any of them
work.

I have an idea for you for next week. On Monday, we have an administrative meeting that we call
Instructional Rounds. We travel from room to room observing classes20 minutes per visit. We look for
some specific traits in the classroom proceduresnot evaluating teachers however. I think it would be very
valuable for you to see. That takes the entire morning. We would be in my office in the afternoon.
Let me know if this is workable. I really believe this would be valuable for your experience.

Instructional rounds are very valuable, I have been a part of these here at SHS the last couple of years.
Would your teachers be ok with me coming in with you?
I think I can make that work. We are supposed to put in for a personal day off at least a week in advance. I
will have to see if I can get this allowed and then I will get back to you.

I usually arrive around 7:30 or shortly thereafter. Enter the main office entrance on the south side of the
building. The office is just inside the door. We will need to go to the middle school at 8:00.
