Collaborative Research Proposal
1. What the topic of your inquiry is
The monumental importance of interstellar space exploration in relation to
the preservation of the human race and potential for that discovery to
revolutionize our knowledge of science
2. What questions your project is trying to answer
What is a practical amount to be spent on the project?
How will the funds be dealt with and split up?
What is a feasible amount of time to spend in space?
Who will be elected to travel first?
What technologies will have to be perfected in order for the project to be
successful?
Is space a viable option for the preservation and expansion of the human
race?
How will countries be able to collaborate and fund a task, needing to be done
quickly, that is clearly impossible for one country to do alone?
3. What is the rhetorical situation of your general group project? What is the
purpose your project, to inform, to persuade etc. about the issue you have chosen,
who is the audience that it's geared for, why is this a good time to be talking about
this issue?
The purpose of our project is to inform people of the significance of space
exploration and how beneficial it is in discovering and obtaining answers to
things that are currently unknown. Hopefully it will present the audience
with enough information so that they see the value in space exploration. In
this way, our project could also aim to persuade people to modify their
previous thoughts and see our perspectives regarding this issue.
The audience is the general public, or anyone that has questions about, or is
interested in space exploration.
This is a good time to be talking about this issue because there is no time like
the present to be using all of the resources and technology that we have to
complete interstellar space exploration. Questions about other universes
and if other life exists always come up, so going into deep research with this
can help reach a definite answer.
4. Which genre each person of the group is doing and how does the genre address
the questions your inquiry is trying to answer
Matt is going to write an argumentative paper that will state whether space
exploration is a possible and practical tool to learning about the preservation
and expansion of the human race.
Ryon is going to make a brochure with the intent to show that countries need
to tackle a situation head on.

Danielle is making an infographic and charts/graphs to show the funds set

aside for the project and who actually funds space exploration. These genres
serve an informational and statistical purpose for the audience.
Jose is making a political cartoon and brochure to show the duration of time
one can spend in space and how long it takes to reach space. Through the
use of these genres, the audience gets a more comical, yet informative stance
on the topic of space exploration.

5. Based on #3, where will it be housed, facebook page, a website, a newsletter, etc
The project will be housed on a weebly account containing multiple sub
genres. Our goal is to create a website with an overall title of space
exploration. Based on that broad title, many subtitles would come into play.
These include our individual portions that we are researching such as
funding, time, obstacles, international factors, etc. Placing all of our
information on this account would be convenient because all of our topics
are interrelated in some way. Having different tabs for them would keep
everything organized and easy to navigate.
