I had the opportunity to interview a family nurse practitioner named Anne Daly. I
chose to interview her because my career has to do with health sciences. During the
interview I realized that I share the same interest in helping people as Anne does. I could
recognize that this career is the right choice for me; I identified with her and what she told
me during this interesting interview. I will continue taking the steps to achieve my goal to
become a radiology technician.
I summarized the useful information that I received and what I learned from the interview.
The questions that I asked
1. What motivated you to focus your study on health science?
2. Where did you start your studies?
3. What did you enjoy while you were studying?
4. What is the most interesting memory that you remember from your years of study?
5. What do you enjoy about your job?
6. How do you deal with the stress in your work place?

7. What do you do in your free time?

8. What advice would you give to people who want to study medicine?
The interview
During this interview Anne shared with me her experiences as a family nurse
practitioner. She told me that the reason she began her studies in health sciences was she
wanted a vocation that involved service to others. She mentioned that she studied at the
University of Phoenix where she has fond memories. An unforgettable memory during her
time there was her graduation.
When we spoke of her work, she told me that it is always busy. This makes her
happy because she helps many people with her knowledge. The reward that she receives is
seeing her patients recover. She consider that intrinsic rewards made her life complete.
Then I asked how she deals with stress in the work place. She responded that she
loves to garden and that it is the best way to deal with stress. She added that in her free time
she also likes to exercise.
Finally, she gave me some advice for people who want to study health-related
careers; she said this should be for people who have a strong desire to help others. She
mentioned that this type of career involves dedication.
This interview helped me confirm that the career I am interested in is the right
choice for me. I share the same views as Anne. I could feel her passion when she spoke of
her career in health. After this interview, I am even more fascinated and excited to continue
my studies.

I appreciate the time Anne gave me for my interview. I learned through the
interesting conversation that we had. She inspires me to continue my studies. I found this
assignment very useful for myself. On the one hand, I could practice the skills of an
interviewer, and on the other hand, I reaffirmed my choice to study to become a radiology
technician.
