**Growth: Please list how your knowledge and skills listed above, have grown as a result of your student
teaching experiences.

I can now successfully search for and provide agencies that are relevant to the families who are in
need of the help.
I have learned how to fill out a child progress report in a way that the parents can understand while
also giving them suggestions on how they can build on their childs development at home.
I now know that the parent letter is one of the many tools I can use to involve parents in their childs
curriculum; that is why it is important to create a parent letter that is relatable and comprehensible to
the parents.

**Beliefs: How has completing the above assignments and your student teaching influenced your beliefs about
promoting partnerships between programs, teachers, families, and their communities?

The community research project and resources have shaped my beliefs that it is important to include the
father of a child in every part of his/her development. Not only that, the resources that I can now provide
are positive ways to get parents information they need to support them personally or their children.
The child progress report has shaped my belief to think that it is a really useful tool that can encourage
parents to be more involved with their childs development. It can also give parents and teachers
opportunities to work together to come up with the best possible way to support the child, making
parents feel more in control of their childs education.
The parent letter leads me to believe that it is important for a parent to have knowledge of what is being
done in the classroom so they can be more involved in their childs learning and development.

**Future Growth & Next Steps: Think about your future teaching, list three goals to help you improve
upon your existing knowledge and skills and your teaching.

I will make sure that to better my research findings for parents, I will get to know them more and
understand their situation. This can include anything from help with special needs to finding a program
suited for their child.
I will work thoroughly to make sure every child progress report has the latest information of their
development so that the parents have a clear understanding of where their child is at developmentally
and leave them with information that they can use to support their children at home.
I will continue to work on parent letters especially once I enter the field. My goal is to make sure my
parent letters are informative, engaging, and relatable so there is more involvement with parents in
school and at home.
Identify how you will achieve each of these three goals. Be specific. For instance, will you enroll in a
course? If so, what course? Will you read a book? What book?
Research is important to get myself more educated but with more time spent with teachers and working
in the field my skills will grow. I can start with supplying myself with pamphlets and information like
on autism, on behavioral issues, and on local parenting classes then providing it to parents in need of it.
