To Whom it May Concern:
Please accept my recommendation of Jordan Terbrueggen for any music education position of application. Jordan student taught in the Madison Local School District during the spring semester of the 2013-2014 school year. During his time in our school district he worked with our 5th grade band, 6th grade band, junior high band, high school concert band, jazz ensemble, steel band ensemble, and basketball band. He also helped plan and manage our District XIII Large Group Adjudicated Event on March 14th 2014. During his time in the Madison Local School District I found Jordan to be one of the most prepared student teachers I have ever had the pleasure of working with throughout my time in education. From the first day it was very evident that his content knowledge was very high and he had no inhibitions about working with our students. It has been my experience that student teachers generally are apprehensive at first when beginning their student teaching placement, but Jordan jumped right in with both feet almost immediately. Within a few weeks he was working with a majority of our ensembles on his own, planning lessons, and working on his classroom management skills. One particular helpful aspect of his student teaching experience here at Madison was his help in preparing our students for our district contest. Jordan had the opportunity to work with each section of the band throughout the semester during sectional time and also spent a great deal of time in front of the entire ensemble. This resulted in a successful performance at the District XIII Large Group Adjudicated Event in which our band received a Superior Rating and qualified for the State Adjudicated Event. I feel very safe in saying that Jordan played a major role in our success! There are many qualities that will make Jordan a fine music educator, but I feel that his strength is his natural rapport with students. Our students here at Madison found Jordan very easy to talk to and looked forward to working with him each day. Positve rapport with students is something that comes naturally to Jordan and something I feel his future students will find endearing. Jordan was an essential part of our program throughout his time here and a major reason we experienced a great deal of success throughout the winter and spring. I am the proud father of three children and would feel very fortunate for them to have Jordan as a teacher some day as he shows a great deal of passion for teaching children. I look forward to following his career as I am sure he will be successful. If you would like to discuss Jordan further, I can be reached at (513) 420-4760 ext. 2501 Sincerely, Shawn E.
