Feedback response for Literacy Narrative

The teaching focus helped with my personal literacy development and mindset in many

ways. It started me off early with learning to have a growth mindset by reading so pieces of
literature that would normally be out of a seventh graders comfort zone. There you read pieces
like Dantes Inferno when exposed to that at a very young age it helped me be able to know how
to communicate more in my writing and develop skills I would need later in school.
Some drawbacks that I found when attending school with students that were at least six
grades ahead of me while I was in six grade was that I almost felt like the teachers were skipping
steps and mainly jumping straight to the twelfth grade material. I also worried that by the time I
reached say ninth grade or tenth I would know all I need to know, like how much more in depth
could they go with things when you are introduced to it so early. I later learned that that was not
the case.
My grades were suffering because there was little importance on schoolwork and that
school and some lack of attention on my part as well. Central high school number nine is a
performing arts school and when I went there it was very disorganized they often had events for
the artistic reasons, it felt more like a party every week.

I felt the same way as the girl from Diary 26 in freedom writers because I am naturally a
very reserved person with people I dont know especially if Im in large classroom with students
I dont really know or relate to.
I agree that that section needs more FRIED, I was just trying to quickly run through the
way I felt when I first came to Holy family and when I left. Had a lot of positive experiences
despite all the negative ones that I bring up, and met some very close friends such as Carmen,
Candy, Saba and Alejandra that turned out to be very loyal to me in the end.
I haven't really had any other teachers that were inconsistent with the way they treat
students in a negative way. I suppose they could be inconsistent because of the level of effort and
drive they get from each student in terms of school work and maybe other areas and subjects that
they might be observing their student on. This was definitely no the case with Ms. A though she
was noticeable different towards me even more with students that got the worst of grades and
had bad attitudes. We had a big disagreement later in the school year that contributed to the way
she was towards me.
