Program Learning Outcome (PLO) Coversheet: PLO #2


PLO 2: Design, implement, and evaluate environments and activities that support positive developmental play
and learning outcomes for all young children.

Knowledge: for each of the above artifacts, please list (using bullets) the knowledge you gained pertaining to
this PLO.
Activity Planning Form (CHDV 150 enhanced CHDV 210)
o We will be able to understand why we do activity plans and its importance
o We will be able to understand how it benefits not only the teacher but the children as well.
o We have an understanding of why it is important to implement to the childs needs.

o Why it is important to keep the classroom in a general time frame.
o We are able to understand why it is important to plan ahead.

o This tool will help us understand the learning from one child to the next.

o We will be able to use this as a guided daily planner.
o We will be able to give the children a sense of security.

o We will be able to create a better sense of what theme is going on that week because we planned

o We will be able to create an atmosphere that the children will feel a sense of safety and comfort.

o I have been able to use many items that are already in the classroom and implement them to
create a sense of the theme we are doing this week.
o I am able to create learning in a way that best meets each child in the classroom.

designing/implementing/evaluating play-based curriculum?
**Future Growth & Next Steps: Think about your future teaching, list three goals to help you improve
upon your existing knowledge and skills and your teaching.
o I want create a strong enough plan to touch on every childs needs. I will do this by continuously
testing new ways the children can play.
o I will create an atmosphere that is warm and inviting but also educational, for example I will
have pots and pans in the dramatic play area, but they will be marked with different languages to
create the culturally diverse atmosphere.
o I will make sure to always be flexible to plans I make during the week due to loss of interest or
difficulty for the child.
Identify how you will achieve each of these three goals. Be specific. For instance, will you enroll in a
course? If so, what course? Will you read a book? What book? I will achieve these goals by creating a
folder that is already made and will only require minor adjustments.
