Fall 2014

Happiness Portfolio
Assignment Overview
Throughout this semester each of you will do a lot of reading, writing, researching, and thinking. Your
final asks you to create a portfolio to showcase this work. Working with Mr. Dan Chibnall, our
embedded librarian, we will collect your work, select a minimum of three projects plus your final
happiness project, and reflect on what you learned and how these projects helped you develop as a
student this semester.
Product
You will create a digital portfolio for your final project this semester. This project asks you to select four
(or more) of your earlier project that you believe represent what you have learned this semester. You
will revise them to be the best they can be and include a reflection piece where you discuss, reflect, and
comment on your unique process of completing this class. This reflection should include a total of 6
credible sources.
We will discuss two free programs, Wix and Weebly, to create your website. I encourage you to use
them. If you want to present your project another way (digital or hard-copy) you must get my
permission no later than September 25th.
Throughout the semester we will work on your portfolios in class and/or as homework. No matter the
format you decide to use, you must complete these activities. If you have questions, concerns, or
problems at any point please dont hesitate to contact me or Dan.
