About Me

Welcome to my E-Portfolio. My name is Irma Rojas and I am currently enrolled in the


Masters in Education Program at Texas A&M University of Commerce. I am pursuing a
masters degree in Education and at the same time getting my teaching certification. I
have been substituting in the El Paso, Texas area for the last 5 years. My background was
in Business working for the Banking Industry for the last 10 years. While I was working
in the banking industry I began tutoring Math part time for students in low income areas
that scored low on the TAKs test. I got such a sense of satisfaction helping these kids that
I decided to go back to school and get my teaching certification.
I currently work for several of the school districts substituting and look forward to when I
can do it full time as a certified teacher. When I am not working I enjoy traveling with my
husband of 24 years and 22 year old daughter.
I hope that you find my E-Portfolio website informative as to what my experience is in the
teaching field and to what my goals are for the future.
It will updated accordingly as my skills change. Any comments and suggestions will be
