class,westudiedargumentativeessaysinWorldofIdeas.Thecollectionofessaysthatwe
studied,forthemostpart,werenotcontemporaryindictionanditsideaswereveryabstract.It
washardtounderstanddefinitionsandconceptsofthesedifferentworks,howeveritbecame
easierthroughannotationsandclassdiscussions.Theclassdiscussionswerewonderful.We
wouldbeputintogroupswherewetalkedaboutthemes,themainideas,oreventoclarifywhat
wewereconfusedby.Beforethediscussions,whenIwasreallyconfusedbythemeaningof
theseindividualessays,Ifeltlikeanoutsider.IthoughtIwastheonlyonewhodidntunderstand
becausenoonewasaskingquestions.IthinkthebiggermistakewasIdidntaskquestions,but
throughthediscussionsIfeltlikeaninsiderwhoknewtheauthorspointsandargument.The

specificareaofpsychologyinEBSCO.ThismistakeleftmefeelinglikeanoutsiderwhenI
heardamajorityofpeopleannouncingtheirgradesofBsandAs.Aftercorrectingthatmistake,I
receivedmyfirstBanda94%onmyfinaldebatepaper.Collegereadinghasbeenrigorous,but
notimpossible.
