1.) Good Even Everyone, My Name Is Ms. Willie Ruth Gay, I Live on Evergreen Rd between
Grand River and Mc. Nichols Im representing my neighborhood where we have squatters.
Really the squatters are taking over the neighborhood. What the squatters who make a living
threw stealing and breaking in homes in the area in which they live.
2.) We meet once a month at Bushnell Church Grand River and Southfield Road the people of
the neighborhood did discuss their concerns about the legal and the illegal things that were
going on in the neighborhood. We bring our concerns to the meeting with the police officers
and the politicians of the area the politicians names is City Council James Tate & Detroit State
Representative eight district is the State Representative for the State of Michigan. When our
neighborhood main concerns is first keeping the whole neighborhood safe without all of the
trafficking. During the meeting the police officers told us that the squatters will keep the
property up and keep the snow shoveled. However the Squatters is, nothing more than
thieves. One other point of concern is how the Squatters is getting water and, gas for free. One
these squatters has, listed the previous owner who just happens to living in the same
3.) Our first main issue in the neighborhood is the squatters who is stealing and, bring the
whole neighborhood down. Everyone around my street is concerned about the trafficking that
is going in and out of their homes all night long. One other point of concern is that people is
coming and buying stolen goods and drugs from the squatters. One of the key results or
findings of, squatters stealing water is that the whole is paying the extra bill to the water and
gas companies. At this weve only had a very few meetings on this issue however plan has been
drawn up. The neighborhood did sent the police man out there to check this out but the police
man could not go pass the side walk without a search warrant. The police would have to

probable cause to search the house. One other main point is that there would sometimes four
to five families living in a squatters house which normally would be full of children.

4.) The police have pointed out to the people in my neighborhood one; the neighborhood
would have to take the squatter to court to evict the squatters or condemned the house. If a
squatter who has a family is not destroying the house let the squatter stay at the house
because if they move out the scrappers will come and destroy the house leaving an i.e. sore
house in the neighborhood which would cause the other houses to decline. Since the squatter
is there and not committing and not harming the neighborhoods my recommendation is to
form or organize a block club and socialize with one another. For the squatters who are
stealing and, harming the neighborhood however it is a very different story. One the police
department and, our neighbors will take them to court to evict them and, the police will try
their best to put some type of crime charge to the squatter.
In conclusion I want to thank you all for coming and listening I want to thank my teacher and
