INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
The plan should guide the LEAs use of education technology for the next three
years.

List specific start and end dates (7/1/xx to 6/30/xx). Provide a brief overview of the
LEA, its location and demographics and/or share a link to the LEAs website.
This plan will be in effect from 7/1/2015 to 6/30/2018.Lakes Retem Academy which is
public elementary school constructed in 1996.It is in the small town of a major city.
Lakes Retem Academy is enrolling 200 students in grade 4 through 8.The students body
is diverse composed of 90% Hispanic/Latino, 6% Black, 3%white, 1%other.

Describe how a variety of stakeholders from within the LEA and the community-atlarge participated in the planning process.
Technology Planning committee includes parents,principal,assistant
principal,teachers,director of technology,business managers,representative of civic
organization.Stakeholders are responsible for the need assessment, and based on these
needs, goals are identified for technology upgrade, integration and support and then they
design planning process, implement planning process and make decision about the
process through meetings.Stakeholders actively participate in the meetings for analysis

and implementation

Summarize the relevant research and describe how it supports the plan's curricular
and professional development goals.

Technology has an important role to improve the education and the use of technology in
education accelerates in years. For educators it is important to make technology plan very
effective. As we all know technology is evolving yearly basis and if educators make their
plan for long term without taking that into consideration, the status of their plan may
change over the years and things can start not working in their favor. Experts are
suggesting that making a plan based on what you think your students will need to learn
and what type of applications your staff and administration will need to use in order to be
successful with achieving the goals. That approach will also help to find out what the
type of equipment you will need use and at the same time that gives you an opportunity
to look for alternates to fit the cost into your budget. For example if the purpose is
teaching students the keyboarding you dont need to buy highly advanced system, instead
you can go with the right tool for less amount and can achieve your goal. Also effective
plans will give you advantage of using different technological equipment other than
computers. You can find many different activities where students can get involved with
teamwork, planning and research working environment and increase their higher order
thinking skills. That way technology becomes part of the curriculum. Staff development
is also one of the important items for establishing an effective plan which help teachers to
refine themselves and be aware of current available technology and the applications. A
plan will be more reliable plan if it will be developed by the involvement of all the
related parts including the people who will actually implement the plan.
The evaluation of the effectiveness of using technology will guide the educators about
how they can enhance the education. When using technology is combined with the
traditional instruction methods the learning of students can be increased. Students can
learn more and quickly with effective usage of technological tools. In order to determine
the effectiveness of technology methods some experimental studies can be conducted at
the schools. It is also believed that in evaluation process the readiness and awareness of
teachers with quality development where technology integrated with the curriculum is a
key factor. The usage of computers for educational purposes has dramatically increased
in last decades at schools. However some schools may not be using the computers
effectively to enhance learning. The aspect from the implementations of the technology is
whether such implementation will improve teaching and learning skills and the

achievement. The teacher who is going to use the technology must be proficient with the
system. It is suggested that in other to find out the most effective technology method all
the stakeholders who can potentially be influenced by the implementation of technology
such as teachers, administrators, board members, parentsetc. needs to come up with an
agreement about the implementation will take place at the school. All type of plans
should include evaluation methods and different type of evaluation methods should be
considered. Implementer should receive enough, adequate and sustainable education.
