Personal Assistant to Professor of Equalities Law

Part Time/Average of 18 per week


8.20/hour
Term of Post: subject to Access to Work contract.
Central Manchester / Heaton Mersey / Home

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Professor Stephen Whittle, one of the Worlds leading
experts in Equalities Law.
Professor Whittle is seeking to recruit a self-motivated, flexible and dynamic, organised individual to be
the Personal Assistant to the Professor of Equalities Law at Manchester Law School, Manchester
Metropolitan University.
The post holder will be required to provide secretarial, administrative, driving and some limited personal
support to the Professor.
The post holder will be able to work on highly confidential matters, have a good level of tact and
diplomacy, and be able to manage the home & university office including filing systems, and manage the
Professors online diary.
We would like to hear from you if you have/are:
Literate, numerate, and able to use Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Willing and keen to learn new skills
Able to make a simple lunch, e.g. a sandwich, and other refreshments for Professor Whittle
Able to travel on a pre-arranged occasional basis, using trains or flights to local, regional and out of
region meetings.
Held had a driving licence for at least 5 years. It should currently be a clean driving licence (no
points, or outstanding issues which may results in points on your licence).
Able to drive the employers vehicle (automatic gearbox), initially on an occasional basis, between
home and work, and to regional meetings.
