Assessing ISTEs NETST

Introduction
While composing my portfolio, I found many interesting concepts on working
with an online portfolio. I would like to learn how to add a power point slid show
into my future portfolio. This seems very interesting and informative for my future
portfolio. I found this activity to be very interesting and complicated at the same
time.
I will continue to work on this as a valuable future portfolio for technology.
This would be a wonderful and up to date way to apply for future careers and show
my future employer that I am tech savy.
Philosophy of Education Statement
I believe that every child has the potential to be educated and learn from this
experience. This belief is the one I hold most dear to my teaching career. I believe
that when you give children knowledge they will learn. No two children learn the
same way, as a teacher, I will teach too many different learning styles. I will use all
styles of teaching so that every child gets the same opportunity to receive an
education. I also feel knowing and understanding how each child learns will allow
me to help each child learn to his/her fullest potential.
Within the teaching realm, I feel that developing a good relationship with
parents is beneficial to both the student and teacher. When a child has structure at
home, it will show in their work at school. As a professional, I do not feel as I am
the only person influencing the childs education; it is also the collaboration of the
staff, teachers, principal, parents, and community. As a professional I will do my
very best to help get everyone involved and excited about a childs education.
As a professional, I feel very strongly about diversity within the classroom. I
believe that diversity goes beyond just the ethnicity of the child. It has to do with
the childs culture, beliefs, ethnicity, and learning ability. I feel as a teacher, we
should embrace this diversity to teach our children equality, empathy, and
compassion for all. When we embrace our differences we will be able to be a much
better American.
While teaching, I plan on continuing my education as well. I want to instill
the value of lifelong learning with my students. There is no better way to do this
than to lead by example. I feel as though education is a never ending journey, and I
want my students to love and embrace their own personal journey in learning, as I
do in mine.
I really look forward to working with children in the mathematical field. This
is my passion and I hope to ignite each childs individual learning style, with the

love of math as well. I feel as though this is a very important subject and something
they will continue to use. I want not only boys, but girls, to see the wonders and
endless possibilities when it comes to math.
I will use the world of technology to my advantage when working with
students. It is important to me that I always show compassion to my students, and
still have a well maintained classroom. Within my class I will touch as many lives
as possible. Giving them knowledge they will be able to see being used in every
day of their life, not just within my classroom.
