1.OBJETIVO.

1. SCOPE.
To uniformize the criteria to estabilish the general tolerances for dimensions without indication
on drawing and which are not in reference in others standards.
2. SYMBOLS.
2.1. Reference ( REF ).
It is a identification for the reference dimensions and should be on the right side of the
dimension.
It is used when is desirable one orientative value to some dimensions which are determined as a
result of other dimension specified with tolerance.
It can be also used when there is a dimension that doesnt require a controled tolerance, since
doesnt interfere in others specified dimensions.
2.2. Maximum ( MAX ).
It means that the dimensions can vary from Zero to specified value.
2.3. Maximum Radius ( R MAX ).
It means that the identified radius can vary from Zero ( an edge ) to the maximum value
specified beside the letter R .
2.4. Maximum Radius ( r MAX ).
It means that is not allowed the edge and its maximum acceptable value will be the value
specified beside the letter " r .
2.5. Minimum ( MN ).
Identification for dimensions that dont have limitations regarding to the maximum value, since
dont interfere in the other parts dimension.
3. GENERAL CONDITIONS.
3.1.
This is standard is applicable to machining parts and parts manufactured by plastic deformation
or sintered.

The tolerances are also applicable as restraint of format and position deviation, when they are
not identified on drawings separately.
3.3.1.
3.4.
All the intervals are given for precision grade medium , according to DIN 7168.
4. SPECIFIC CONDITIONS.
4.1.
The reference dimensions should not be controled in production parts, but, they need to meet
the requirements during the tooling development.
4.2.
The edges without specified dimension can have any form, since they have a chamfer with 0,2 x
45 max.
4.3.
In special situation, where one specific dimension many have different tolerance regarding to
parts lot, this tolerance shall be specified on drawing.
4.4.
The dimensions and angles specified on drawings as well as the tolerances specified in this
standard, shall be controlled like the example below:
- Linear dimension : 3 2 + 00 ,, 20
Should the dimension is 32,23 it will be made a round to 32,2.
The roudness criteria is:
5 make round to less
> 5 make round to more
Note that the roudness in the above example was made in the centesimal part, because the
tolerance was specified to decimal part.
- Angular dimension : 30 15
Should the part has 29 44 38, the part related to seconds ( 38 ), shall be rounded and the
dimension will be 29 45. The roudness criteria is:
30 ( minutes or seconds ) make round to less
> 30 ( minutes or seconds ) make round to more
Note that the roudness in the above example was made in the second part, because the tolerance
was specified to minutes.

Example:
To better understand the permissible tolerances for angles, it is represented the limits for 90 or
other dimensions. The deviations are represented in a bigger form to better understanding.
The shaded area is not allowable in both extremity, it means that tolerances can not be added.
4.8. Representation:
In drawings where this standard is applicable, shall be reported:
" Tolerances not identified according to NA 032 ".
It has to be written on the upper left side according to the sketch and with the dimensions : X =
15,0 mm Y = 60,0 mm
