Questionnaire into My Genre (Pop and RnB) Analysis

This is a questionnaire I did to see what genre between Pop and RnB is most popular, by
questioning 10 students between the ages of 16-18.

Here it is clear to see that the preferred genre is Pop. This may be due to artists in this genre being
more well-known, such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga, compared to other artists in RnB such as Ciara.
This also lets me know what sort of content I should include more of in my magazine and what
audience it will attract more of if I include this.

It is clear to see that Rihanna is a very well-known artist for her growing success in the industry and
having Number Ones across the world, so she will be preferred more compared to artists such as
Christina Aguilera. This also helped me because then I know to include things such as Tours she may
have or the latest gossip, etc.

It is no surprise that Beyonc is the most preferred in this genre of music due to her success, as well.
This gives me a benefit because she is doing her On the Run Tour and this can be included in the
magazine because it will attract the right and intended audience.

This was an important question because then Id know whether to do the Magazine Daily, Weekly or
Monthly Or even Yearly. Most people chose monthly, so this helps me decide whether it should say
a specific date or a monthly date on each magazine.

It was important to know whether students already had a favourite music magazine because it
would give me insight to what sort of magazines they enjoy reading and what sort of genres that
magazine includes.

This question would allow me to research more into what sort of genre the majority of the audience
prefers, and this would help me decide what type of content I should include more of in my
magazine and because half of the participants chose Rolling Stones as their preferred magazine, I
could include it as a prize to get a free Rolling Stones magazine.

This question is very useful because it helps me work out, not only what I should include in the
contents, but also what the audience wants in a magazine and what theyre looking for If I provide
this then the audience would grow and more people would buy and read it.

This is a quite important question because it refers to my target audience. This is my target audience
for my magazine (ages 16+) because it may contain content of more mature teenagers that are not
fitted for younger readers. Most of the students were sixteen and non were eighteen. I asked mostly
students in my class so this may be why.
