So I'm just starting to learn Japanese and needed to turn this deck into a vocab

ulary deck.
This deck has sentences and kanji, which are too advanced for me, so I removed t
hem.
Here's how I did it.
First get rid of the sentences.
Go into anki's card browser(the 'browse' button at the top), click on this deck.
In the search bar it will have this in it "deck:Japanese Core 2000 Step 01 Liste
ning Sentence Vocab + Images"
Put the word 'sentence' on the end, with a space before it, so you should search
for
"deck:Japanese Core 2000 Step 01 Listening Sentence Vocab + Images" sentence
This gives a list of all the sentences, since they have the keyword 'sentence'.
Delete them all.
The second step - Change the Kanji to Hiragana/Katakana.
Whilst in the card browser, click on this deck again, and click the 'cards' butt
on, next to the 'fields' button, in the card editor.
Click on the "Reading" tab and delete everything in the top box and replace it w
ith this.

This line turns the "expression"/ kanji card into one that also shows the hiraga
na/katakana.
You only need to do this step once, on any of the cards, and it will apply it to
all of the cards.
