Objective: Students will understand that plants are living things. They Plants need air, water,
sun, and nutrients to grow. Grade Kindergarten: Concept: Differentiate living and nonliving
things

Student Role: A Gardner in the classroom taking care of a living organism.
Audience: Classmates and parent
Format: A daily picture report of how the plants are growing.
Topic: How does your garden grow?

Directions: 1. Students will create a KWL chart with the teacher


2. Read the book Bean and Plant
3. Compare and Contrast living and nonliving things
4. Began planting Lima Bean Seeds
5. Create a chart with photos including what happened daily

Directions: 1.Students will create a KWL Chart about the four seasons
2. Watch the weather daily and have a student describe what they see and feel.
3. Students record weather finding in Weather Journal
4. Students will learn to read the thermometer
5. Use Smart Board to Mitch and match pictures of the four seasons

Directions: 1.Identify what a pattern is and how they are created


2. Have students create their own patterns using snap cubes
3. Start a pattern for the students using the interactive white board and ask students
to complete the pattern
4. Take a Pattern walk around the school
