Introduction
 The action of the Dravya mainly depends on Rasa,
Guna, Virya, and Vipaka
 These factors are interdependent on one another.

 If these factors are equally potent then the action


of Rasa is suppressed by Vipaka, action of Vipaka
suppressed by Virya, action of Virya suppressed by
Prabhava.

 If the Rasadi Gunas are not equally potent

then the action of the Dravya depends on

potent factor which is present in that.


 On the basis of Panchamahabhoota

comoposition, and the action exhibited by

the Dravya they are divided into 2 groups:

1. Samanya Pratyayarabdha

2. Vichitra Pratyayarabdha
Definition

Samanya Pratyayarabdha:

 Rasa, Guna, Virya & Vipakajanya karma is


called as Samana Pratyayarabdha
Example:
Dravya Rasadi gunas Karma

Kshreea Madhura Rasa Kaphavardhaka


Guru Guna
Seeta Virya

Chitraka Katu Rasa Kaphavata


Laghu Guna Shamaka
Usna Virya
Vichitra Pratyayarabdha:

 Karma is not in accordance with the


Rasadi gunas.
