There are many times when the tambayan of UP ALCHEMES
is littered with trash especially plastic bottles. Additionally the only trash bin
within the tambayan is insufficient in terms of volume and also leaves no provision
for proper segregation.PROJECT OBJECTIVESTo increase environmental consciousness of
people within and outside the organizationTo encourage members to keep the tambayan
clean and greenTo be able to generate additional funds and equipment from recycled
trashPROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AND MANAGEMENT PLAN The first week of the project will
involve the setting up the required bins and the publicizing the recyclables drive
to everyone, especially outside the organization. Then, for a few months, will be
the trash collection phase. This is when anyone can throw away to the designated
trash bins with proper segregation. If ever a trash bin gets full, its contents can
be stored temporarily somewhere else like in someones house or dormitory. If the
trash bins gets full at a remarkably fast rate, additional bins may be added at the
collection site. If the amount of trash collected is already large way ahead of
schedule, the main event can be held multiple times during the project so that the
amount of trash will be decreased. At the end of the collection period, the main
event of this project will be done. This is where everyone especially members and
applicants of the organization will make something useful out of the collected
recyclables. Finally, the remaining unrecycled trash can be sold and the proceeds
would go to the funds of the organization.PROJECT MONITORING AND EVALUATION During
the collection phase, someone would be assigned to man the trash bins to ensure
proper segregation of trash. Someone would also take note on some factors like the
cleanliness of the tambayan to check out if the project made positive impacts.
PROJECT BUDGET
Around two-hundred pesos would be needed for this project,
basically for the purchase of trash bins. However, if the project gets implemented
for the second time, additional funding is no longer necessary since the trash bins
from the first time it gets implemented would be used again. Funding for the
project may come from proceeds earned from an initial collection of recyclables.ANY
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If ever the project becomes successful, it could be done
subsequently in partnership with the department, college or ESC and that this
project can then be implemented in a much larger scale so that the objectives can
be more fulfilled. This would also be an initial step to save our planet.
