If asked what rewards do I get from standing in front of the class
This is what I shall say
Every night as I discuss, I see
Happy faces enjoying endless jokes
A beaming expression of approbation
Debates of rational thoughts
Scholarly remarks in quest for recognition
Raised eyebrows while counting flaws
Sleepy heads at the backseat hiding from my watch
Blank faces trying to comprehend heated discussions
A sarcastic grin opposing my opinion,
A perplexed stare as if asking are you fair?
Cynical looks showing hostility of character,
Disappointment had me shouting, cheat, insensitive , conceit
These and 100 more
Still wonder why I choose to be here
9 years going to 10
Through the years
These are the rewards Ive been counting
My 4Ps had me going
Passion, pride, Prize and pain
Safely kept in my portfolio
Denying losses, expecting gains
Capitalizing on emotions and intellect
No other reward can compensate
The cost of respect and appreciation
