Fort Sumter Journal

Introduction
We are creating a journal of a confederate soldier in the civil war. His name is Angus
Roberfustin and he is just your average 18-year old from Southern Georgia. We are very excited
to create this project and we think it will be a learning experience for all of us.
We have been working hard on this project and we hope that you like it. We have done a
lot towards this project and we hope that it teaches everyone what a soldiers life is like!
Essential/Driving Research Question
1. A lot of kids now dont know much about the living conditions of a soldier in the Civil
War, my partner and I are here to change that.
2. We propose that we shall make a journal of a soldier who is attacking Fort Sumter and
show just how life actually was for them.

Result (10 pts)

We accomplished teaching our peers and classmates about the civil war living conditions.
This is what we were hoping for. Our intended result fits the final result in the way that our
friends were taught by our journal that the actual life inside the civil war was not easy at all. It
shows that the life of the soldiers was not an easy pushover life, they actually had to fight not
only to win the war, but to survive just staying in the camp.
Our final result was a nice little journal, that detailed life on the side of the confederate
soldiers. Its dimensions were technically 3 dimensional (paper has three dimensions) but I would
say is technically two dimensions. It looks like a coffee-stained, wrinkled pieces of paper, which
is exactly what we were going for in this project. It looks just how we imagined it would and we
hope that future projects go this well.
Reflection
We got to learn about the very first battle that sparked the civil war. Throughout researching it
we discovered what the life of a soldier really would have been like. During the beginning stages
of the project we kind of just slacked along and then we did the rest towards the end, hopefully
we wont make that same mistake again. Next project we wont slack through until the end and

we will do everything in the given time. This project was similar to other projects in past, not so
much the choose your own partner, but it cant be one youve already worked with. That was
difficult to choose.
