SECTION ONE:
Introduction
My journey in the masters program began early as a
newly graduate student. I hadnt even finished my teaching
credentials before starting the program. Having trouble
passing the CSETS, so I could student teach I was at a
stand still. I thought, Why not start my masters and
finish before I get my credentials? However, it has been a
struggle nonetheless.
Personal Growth
Throughout the program I have learned and grown
tremendously. Not only have I gained so much vital teaching
knowledge and how to better assist my future students, but
also I have gained such a better understanding about my own
self- about how I learn and how I learn best. One of the
classes I took involved learning about the multiple
intelligences. I found that I learn best through reflective
thought and visual/verbal instruction. On that topic, I
found just how important it is to get to know your students
and how they learn best. In order to be an effective
teacher, I know I need to really pay close attention to
what makes it click for them.
I really feel grown up being so close to the finish.
Completing a masters program right out of graduating
college feels really amazing.

The great communication via

google plus and adobe connect have been really beneficial

for me not only academically but personally as well. The
tools and connections I have made throughout this program

Cooper
will be with me in the years to come and I feel so blessed
to have been exposed to the wonderful technical tools that
I have been at this program.
Professional Growth
As I am currently not a teacher and still a student it
is hard, at this moment, to measure my professional growth.
However, I know that because of my masters education and
education in technology my teaching will forever be
enhanced and therefore, I know I will stick out.
Professionally, I feel I am equipped with a widevariety of knowledge in the technology arena.

I am eager

to have my own classroom and implement various components I

have taken away from this program.

From knowing how to

implement a flipped classroom to being able to create a fun

lesson plan with pictures and music I am excited to show
off my knowledge.
Another aspect of the technology I have learned to use
is being able to adapt my future lessons to ELL and SPED
students.

So much of technology is wasted on multimedia

and I cant wait to teach my future co-workers and

administration the positive aspects it has on these
students who so often get overlooked.
Technical Growth
Growing up in a time where technology is such a norm,
I have always been confident in using technology. I started
this program right out of my undergraduate studies where I
attended Azusa Pacific University, so the transition went
very smoothly. However, I have not finished my teaching

Cooper
credentials yet so that has been a challenge when it comes
to things like creating lesson plans and basing things off
of a real classroom.
Various classes have given me a wealth of knowledge
that I am eager to apply when I do finish my credentials.
Because of my classes I now know how to flip a classroom,
create an iMovie, distinguish differences between a good
and bad website, create a digital story, and much more.
Life Long Learning Plan
Student teaching and then obtaining my teaching
credentials is next on my list.

I plan to student teach

this coming spring and then start applying for elementary

teaching positions. As far as technology programs goes I
hope that in the future I am able to attend conferences to
learn the latest new thing to use in my classroom. I want
my classroom to be advanced and be able to give my students
the best tools in order to help them succeed. Technology
can be used in a number of different ways and I hope my
students learn early on that it is not just for TV and
playing video games but also to learn. I have so often seen
that teachers are scared of technology and associate it
with these negative things, but that is not the case at
all. Technology can be used to learn and I plan on making
that happen in my classroom.

Evaluation of the Impact of the Digital Teaching and

Learning Program:
The number one things I take away from this classroom
are that technology can be used in every subject area in a
classroom.

I have learned that flipping a classroom to

have lessons online can benefit a student tremendously.

Kids often have trouble doing homework on things they
learned that day because either they werent paying
attention or simply just have not mastered the concept or
as a teacher being able to put that lesson up online so
students can access it when it comes time to do their
homework makes a difference.
Program Evaluation:
This program has enhanced my technology skills
remarkably.

I loved that it was able to accommodate to

remote locations. Every instructor was very flexible and

accommodating to everyones busy schedules. It was made
easy and fun to learn. I feel equipped with the knowledge I
need to make a better more technologically advanced
classroom.
