KUCHING: Seven junior golfers from the Sarawak Junior Golf First Association (SJGFA) will be vying for
honours in their respective age categories at the Sarawak Amateur Junior Open golf championship in
Bintulu from Sept 16-18.
They are Adam Muzaffar, Donald Ho and Kulleh Tajang who will compete in the Boys B, C and D
categories.
The girls are Martiana Chua and Nicole Wong who will compete in B category while Rachel Shane and
Ash Nabila have been entered in the D category.
Other categories to be contested are Boys Special (U21), Boys A (U17), Girls Special (U21), Girls A
(U17), Girls C (U12).
This is the first time that we are sending players to the Sarawak Amateur Junior Open. We also sent
some players to compete at the KGM Junior Amateur Open Golf Championship (Datuk Sebastian Ting
Challenge Trophy) in Miri recently, said coach Chih Ching Chuang.
This is a very good competition for them to learn and gain match experience. It is also part of our
preparations for them to compete in the Sarawak Chief Ministers Cup International Invitational Golf
Championship in November, he added.
The tee-shirt sponsor for the SJGFA juniors for the Bintulu meet is Alex Deled Ang.
According to Chih, there are 34 juniors aged between seven and 14 at SJGFA who train on every
Saturday and Sunday morning.
