Placement Details
I worked as an assistant chef and provided business support for my family business in
a Chinese take away.
During my voluntary work, my responsibilities and roles included:
Analysing and observing the progress and potential of the business.
Developing various methods on how to create and utilize a business plan to
enhance maximum potential.
Monitoring the business system regularly to ensure maximum efficiency is
achieved such as checking the food supply stock.
Assisting as a chef & applying time management skills to overcome busy
times.
Helping in counter/kitchen & dealing with requests and orders being made by
customers.

Key skills acquired included:


Effective communication between co-workers and customers, problem
solving, time management, effective decision making to ensure the maximum
efficiency can be achieved.
Cranmore Infant School (UK) (19th to 23rd July 2010) (UK)
Placement Details
I worked as a teachers assistant in Solihull focusing on communication and
developing learning strategies for young children. My responsibilities included:
Working closely with teachers and other members of staff to gather
information about the school system.
Creating simple presentations for use of learning material for young children
to adapt and learn from.
Assisting as a teacher & exercising adapted practical skills to help progress
through lessons.
Key skills acquired included:
Extracting and applying useful information from vast sources of data to help
create presentations, documents, worksheets and spreadsheets for use in
lessons.
Use of consistency, initiative and working under pressure when needed for
special events being held at school such as sports day.
SMBC Finance Department at Solihull Council (16th April to 23rd April 2012)

Placement Details
I worked in the Auditing department for the SMBC assisting senior managers,
auditors and focusing on processing and recording various auditing documents. My
tasks included:
Processing Cheques and remittances for clients.
Updating financial and audit documents with regards to any changes that may
be made due to regulations.
Producing presentations to assist supervisors for training regimens and
schemes for staff training days.
Working outside field by visiting different client by interviewing them
regarding to the agendas produced. Examples include managers from local
hospitals, police station, schools, private business companies.
Key skills acquired included:
Use of consistency, teamwork and use of time management when needed for
short term tasks or quick agendas that may need to be resolved in a timely
manner.
Punctuality and problem solving to resolve issues with audit documents.

Assigning cheques and documents to correct client directories for use of


information.
Processing and creating remittance files for invoice checks.

Creating business plans to help advertise the merchandise.


Supporting managers for preparation in meeting by creating template models
in use for practical applications.
Updating project plans as well as modifying schedules for tasks that may be
relocated to a different department.
Installing and programming software for essential purposes of software

Updating the financial software as well as speaking to clients regarding any
chances to their specific order requirements.

Essential teamwork and use of time management for urgent tasks that may
need to be resolved.

Communications skills such as phoning companies and clients regarding
purchase orders, queries, invoices or general matters. Constantly talking to
different departments to resolve issues or request any information.
PROJECT/ ACTIVITES
Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award (10th October 2010 to 13th May 2011) (UK)
Details
I did a Bronze DofE programme from which I need to complete 4 sections consisting
of: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. I did a minimum of 6 months
activity for each of the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections, and plan, train for
and do a 2 day (1 night) Expedition.
I worked in a team of 7 with assistance from a trainer and an experienced DofE
advisor. Our team was to write a proposal and plan explaining our journey paths and
geographic diagrams together with a consistent overall presentation of the course after
the expedition completion date.
Key skills acquired included:
Team Coordination & Communication, Geography Mapping Skills, R&D, Project
Management, Data & Structural Analysis.
