The Target for these is to Improve inter-group RELATIONS by increasing

And Interaction between these , reduce Dysfunctional Competition with
promoting a
concern for Organisational Objectives . It is applicable where relations
amongst groups are
Hostile /Strained
Steps in Interventions:-
1.Leaders of concerned groups (Two) meet consultant and their admittanc
to
Possibilities of Improving Relations and look for ways to do so. A tim
& Place for this
is planned
2. Intervention Commences .Groups meet in independent rooms and l
(1st ) their Feelings,
Attitudes , Thoughts & Perceptions of the other Group. The other l
(2nd ) attempts to
capture ‘s Predictions of the Other Groups (Dislikes)Opinion about
them .
3.Groups come Together in Consultants presence and share the List initially
the 1st list and

Resolution of Interpersonal Conflict is the feature of R.E. Waltons Third party


Peace making Intervention.
Acceptance of Existence of Conflict and willingness for Confrontation and its
Knowledge to the Third Party which can diagnose conflicting situation and utiliz
Tactics to EXPOSE the CONFLICT for examination.

The Conflict is seen as a CYCLICAL process and having impacts that are

Further the Conflict typology also is classified as


1.Substantive – Disagreement over Policies , Practices , Roles , etc
2.Emotional – Negative Feelings (Anger, Fear etc)
