Brush Mouse

Description:
Brush Mice are mammals. A mammal is an animal that does not lay eggs
and has fur. Brush Mice have unique broad bright orange lateral lines
extending from their cheek to the hindquarters. They have small ears and
long tails. It can be 3.4 to 4.1 inches long with tails 3.5 to 4.5 inches long.
They also have tuft at the end of their tails.

Habitat:
Brush Mice live in scrubs, shrubs, brush lands, meadows, fields, and
forests. They can also be found from northern California to Eastern
Colorado and down to Western Texas. Brush Mice appear to prefer
locations with low grass cover.

Diet:
Brush Mice are omnivores (animals that eats both meat and vegetation).
They eat fungi, seeds, but mostly insects. Acorns are also commonly
eaten by Brush Mice when they are available.

Predators:
Brush Mice have many predators. Some include: cats, birds, snakes,
canines (foxes, wolves, and other dogs) as well as people.
