Welcome To Micolny
Micolny is a place that prides itself on its extremely hard workers, and its
zero tolerance for any slackers. Therefore in order for any immigrants to
come to our beautiful colony they must undergo a thorough investigation of

everything about them to insure that we can maintain our perfect colony
and continue thriving for the coming years. This paper will thoroughly go
through our acceptance policies and who we will be getting into our colony.

Immigration Acceptance
Since construction on Mars
is problematic, to say the
least it would be wise to
limit the amount of
immigrants to be accepted
each year to 1000. The
current settlement of
Micolny is well established
but receiving new materials
from Earth to expand is
extremely time consuming
and may take upwards of 6 months for one supply drop. Therefore growing
the population by a maximum of 1000 people will insure that there is ample
room for expansion, without giving the current workers of the settlement to
much work in one year.

Classifications of
Immigrants
There will be 3 types of immigrants that will be coming to

Micolny. Engineer Class, Scientist Class and the Family Class. This section will display
the importance of each of the classes and how they will contribute to making the colony
of Micolny a better and brighter place for all.

Engineer Class
The Engineer Class is essential to the survival and growth of Micolny. Engineers are the
most important class of immigrants and will take up the majority of the colony. Living on
Mars is very dangerous and errors can easily happen, therefore we need engineers who
are able to navigate the surface of Mars and fix any errors that can happen. In order to
qualify under the Engineer Class, you
must pass a variety of tests and
examinations which will be administered
by the government of Canada. You must
have ample amounts of knowledge in the
scientific and mathematical field, you
must have an engineers degree and you
must know about space exploration and
how to act in the face of danger. The
engineers will navigate the surface and
collect data for the scientists to analyze
and make amazing scientific discoveries to help develop the quality of life on Micolny.
This class will greatly benefit the scientific class by supplying them with the resources to
further their scientific discoveries. Perks of this class will be full financial support so long
as there is exploration done that day.

Scientist Class
The Scientists who immigrate to Mars will innovate the human race for years to come. Scientific
discoveries will fuel the innovation and expansion of Micolny and will make life for everyone on
the colony more efficient and will allow them to complete their everyday tasks with ease.

Scientists rely on the efficiency and consistency of the Engineers to return to them with the
necessary equipment. In order to qualify under the scientist class you must have an extremely
advanced understanding of scientific principles as well as the ability to traverse the surface of
Mars. Analyzing the data could take several years even with alot of scientists so the best of best
will be needed, but this will eliminate some
of our funding to pay for this expert
scientists.
Scientists will receive constant financial
support as there job is of the utmost

importance to the innovation of the colony.

Family Class
In order to expand our colony and make it
resemble Earth in as many ways as
possible, we will be allowing Families to
immigrate to Mars and live there to help expand the population of colony and do standard
everyday jobs that arent as important as the jobs of the scientists and the engineers. The
Family Class is what will attract the majority of the immigrants because of the ease of access if
you already have a family member on Mars. Although funding is not supplied for the Family
Class, they have more ways of making money then the Scientist Class and the Engineer Class.
In order to qualify under the Family Class you must have a basic understanding of scientific
principles and the rules and regulations of Micolny. These test will be administered by the
government of Canada and a score of 95% or higher will be required in order qualify.
Although the Family Class doesnt have to work to the degree of the Scientist Class or the
Engineer Class, they do not receive constant funding and they are not allowed on the surface of
Mars.

Citizenship
Before coming to the colony, you must take a pre-citizenship test in order to determine if youre
ready for permanent citizenship on Mars. People must be prepared to leave Earth forever and
possibly never see their families again unless they qualify under the Family Class in which case

their family could also immigrate. Every immigrant must also have a base knowledge of
Science, Math and Space Exploration (The amount of expertise varies on class). Colonists born
in Micolny are instantly rewarded with citizenship under the legal concept of jus soli.
In order to qualify as a citizen as Micolny, you
must not only make significant contribution to
the colony, but also you must be an active
member of the community. Tests to see if you
are viable to be a citizen of Micolny will be
administered to you after one year of living in
the colony. You must know how our society
works and how they will integrate into our
colony. They must know how every part of the
colony functions and how to survive in the
event of a critical failure.
Benefits of citizenship are increased government funding and health plans, since chances of
injury on Mars are higher than on Earth and we are providing a complete and comprehensive
health plan in case of injury and since making an income when youre elderly is difficult a
retirement pension will be supplied to help you through the later years of your life. Since there
will be no democracy on the colony, citizens will not have to vote. The entirety of the facility will
be controlled from Canada and orders will be sent up to an executive officer who will be
appointed by the Prime Minister. Being unified as a nation is of the utmost importance with
Canadians and being treated with equality and respect will continue all the way over to Mars.
