1066, Normandy and England were linked by Norman and Frankish
rulers.

breeding the most important sector.

Upper Normandy is higher concentration on industry.

Normandy is a significantcider-producing region, and also produces


calvados, a distilled cider orapple brandy.

Normandy region contains 3 nuclear power stations.

As Normandy is a premium tourist
destinations, many of the younger people
will speakEnglish, and will be willing to
speak it. Spanish, Italian, andGermanare
also quite widely studied at school. Although
there are Norman languages, they are
mostly dying out, and the speakers will also
speakFrench.

Rouen is fabled as the city of One Hundred Spires and the place where
French heroine Joan of Arc was burned at the stake.

Caen is a city of more than 100,000 people, located in the heart of


Normandy and a short distance from some of the regions best
beaches. This city was heavily bombed during World War II.

Bayeux is one of Frances most perfectly preserved cities. The city was
able to escape bombing during World War II.
